Mike Miller, master teacher of English as a Second Language, developed this copyrighted system to make
learning English challenging and fun, and to allow you to study at home.  Use the films, the vocabulary
development exercises, the viewing guides and the tests.  If you follow these easy steps you will soon find

For Questions:
englishfla@yahoo.com OR phone/fax 727-541-6222.

LEARNING STEPS
1.  Purchase, rent or borrow the film either on VHS or DVD.
2.  Complete the first vocabulary exercise:  These are challenging, so don't expect to get all the  answers
correct. But give each answer a try before consulting the answer sheet.  Then often review the
vocabulary lists to learn the standard words, the idioms and the slang expressions.
3.  Watch the first section of the Viewing Guide.  Listen for the vocabulary words and check them off when
you hear them.  They are listed in the order they appear in the film.  Also, answer the questions on the
Viewing Guide.  The  questions come in the correct order.  You may stop and replay certain sections of
the film in order to find the answer.
4.  Then go on to the next Vocabulary Exercise and the next Viewing Guide until you have viewed the
    whole film.
5.  Think about the discussion questions, and consider enrolling in the person-to-person email
consultation with an instructor for writing and discussion.
6.  Take the test.
7.  Do the whole process again for the film, or begin a new film.

Note:  All our films are chosen because they are classic American movies or because they deal with
important issues in American culture.
These packets are great for classroom teachers also.  They may
be copied for classroom use.
